Bad news for Schalke 04 ahead of their Easter Sunday visit to Hertha BSC - Ivan Rakitic will miss the game, and a few more besides.
The midfielder is out of action for a month or longer, after injuring his ankle.
Accident
Head coach Mirko Slomka said, “Ivan injured himself, no-one else was involved. He’s damaged the ligament and capsule in his left ankle joint, and will be out for four weeks at least.”
Which means the Royal Blues will also be without the services of the Croatian midfielder for their Champions League quarter-final clash with tournament favourites FC Barcelona.
