Finnish international Petri Pasanen has extended his existing contract with Werder Bremen, the fouth-placed club has announced.
The 27 year-old defender’s new contract will run through until June 30th, 2011. After the deal was finalised, Pasanan told Werder’s official website “I have found my place here in Bremen. I have played here at the very top level for three years now and have the opportunity to stay on for another three years of the same. That’s why I made my decision.
Dedicated team player
Pasanen enjoys a reputation for being a flexible and versatile defender, and exactly that trait is something Bremen have needed in a season blighted by a string of squad injuries. As General manager Klaus Allofs believes, “”Petri is a very reliable player who is capable of playing in any position.”
Pasanen has been at Werder since the summer of 2004 and in that time he has made 76 Bundesliga appearances for the Green-Whites, scoring three goals along the way.
