Ronaldo: Sidelined
Ronaldo is hoping to prove Pele wrong after the Brazilian legend said he may not fully recover from his latest knee injury.
The Milan striker ruptured tendons in his left knee in a recent game with Livorno and is set to be sidelined for several months after undergoing surgery.
There has been speculation that Ronaldo might have to retire from the sport, while Pele stated last week that it would be ‘difficult’ for him to recover and find his best form once again.
Ronaldo is using Pele’s remarks to motivate him and is confident he still has a long playing career in front of him.
Prediction
“I’m actually glad he said that,” Ronaldo told Radio Globo on Sunday.
“We all know Pele is known for making wrong predictions about everything. It usually happens the opposite of what he says.”
Ronaldo stressed that he was not upset with Pele, adding: “I know he is an idol and is asked about all subjects.
“Sometimes that puts him in difficult situations.”
